House of the Dragon: Season 1
Game of Thrones is based on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but House of the Dragon is based on his “history” book, Fire & Blood. The book is credited as written by an Archmaester of Westeros, with various accounts on what happened during the Targaryen reign. Now, Otto schemes successfully to present his daughter Alicent to Viserys as a suitable bride. We first meet Laena at age 12 as she’s being offered in marriage by her parents to a mortified King Viserys. She thankfully fares better after that and winds up distinguishing herself as a dragonrider and noblewoman. She marries Daemon and they live together happily while she raises her twin daughters, Rhaena and Baela.

House Targaryen takes most of its customs from the Valyrian Freehold. Aegon V later died in a fire at the Tragedy of Summerhall, and his son Jaehaerys became King. Baelor also dissolved his marriage with his sister Daena and locked her in the Maidenvault with Rhaena and Elaena. The new King focused on spiritual matters and built a new Sept, the Great Sept. When Daena escaped the Maidenvault and gave birth to a son, Baelor fasted for forty days. After his death, Prince Viserys, who remained the Hand of the King, became King and ruled for a year.
I'll leave the outcome of the fight for you to discover, but it promises to be an emotional showdown. Watching the trailers for House of the Dragon season 2, Aegon always popped off the screen. I think season 2 will be when he comes into his own as a dynamic, interesting character who can stand beside of likes of Rhaenyra and Daemon for our attention. He didn't want to be king, but after getting crowned decided to give it a go, only to shot in the heart just a couple weeks into work. He'll have to change and grow if he wants to keep his head above water, which means that actor Tom Glynn-Carney will have a lot of juicy material to bite into. The Blood and Cheese incident that is presumably on the way early in Season 2 is the one thing that I suspect might flip some Team Black fans over to Team Green.

By this point, all three dragons had grown significantly larger, with Drogon, in particular, becoming larger than a carriage due to his continued freedom. He is now large enough for Daenerys to sit comfortably across his back, and has begun to obey her commands while riding.
